Vehicular Accident
in Piñan
A vehicular traffic accident transpired at the
National Highway of Barangay Desin, Piñan, Zamboanga Del Norte at about 7:01 AM
of May 11, 2017.
Investigation disclosed that:
V1 – Red and Black color combination Suzuki
Raider 150 Motorcycle, Engine Nr J427250114, Chassis Nr BG41H406343, CR Nr
257862220 owned and driven by Jay Ar Egam y Magdadaro, 27 years old, married,
lending collector, holder of non-professional driver’s license and a resident
of Sitio Lawag, Brgy Galas, Dipolog City while
V2 - White SINOTRUK 10 wheelers Dump Truck with
engine number WD61547170717022127, Chassis number LCC6ELSD6HD49836, CR number
296746741 OR NUMBER 1251016885 without plate nr attached, registered under the
name of Ronald Lim, driven by Romeo Real y Martinez, 54 years old, married, a
resident of Brgy Calibongan Proper, Tudela, Missamis Occidental.
Further Investigation revealed that while the
dump truck was travelling from barangay Macleodes, Polanco, Zamboanga Del Norte
en route to Polanco Proper and the MC was also travelling on the same direction
overtook the dump truck.
As the MC established its proper lane, a stray
carabao suddenly appeared in the middle of the highway forcing the MC to make
sudden stop. On the other hand, the dump truck which was already behind the MC
applied an abrupt brake to avoid collision as shown by traces of skid marks.
As a result, the dump truck hit the rear portion
of the MC causing the MC driver thrown to the left side of the highway.
The motorcycle was dragged beneath the dump
truck for about 30 meters from the impact as trace on skid marks were also
found.
The MC driver suffered serious injuries causing
his instantaneous death. The driver of the dump truck voluntarily surrender at
Polanco MPS at about 10:30 A.M. of same date and temporarily detained at Piñan
MPS detention cell pending filing of appropriate charges in court. Both vehicles
were brought to Piñan MPS for proper disposition while the cadaver of the
victim was properly turned-over to his nearest kin.
Meanwhile, Driver of MC-2 Dennis Beraque Durada
was pronounced dead by his attending physician Dr. Mata due to fatal injury he
sustained at about 9:15 AM of May 11, 2018
Further, the driver of MC-1 was identified as
Bernel Lagura, 38 years old, single, and a resident of brgy Silawe, Polanco and
his backrider was also identified as Carlito G. Vilar, 40 years old, single and
a resident of brgy Labrador, Polanco, and both are still admitted at ZANORTE Medical

Drug Suspect Arrested in Dapitan City
On May 11, 2018 at about 1:30 PM, Joint
Operation conducted by Dapitan CPS personnel together with Dipolog CPS
personnel and PDEA Zamboanga del Norte conducted buy-bust operation at Brgy
Larayan, Dapitan City.
The operation resulted to the arrest of Vierna
Pantoja Guinares, 42 years old, married, a resident of Orchid Villas, Brgy Sta.
Isabel, Dipolog City.
Recovered from her possession and control were:
one (1) piece heat sealed transparent plastic
sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu as buy-bust
evidence; Two (2) pcs heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white
crystalline substance believed to be shabu;
One (1) pc one-thousand-peso bill with serial
number EA022666 as buy-bust money;
One (1) pc brown coin purse.
Suspect now detained at Dapitan CPS for filing
of appropriate charges in court.
Fire Incident
in Sindangan
Fire incident occurred at about 8:35 AM of May
12, 2018, at Sitio Balik Balik, Barangay Goleo, Sindangan, Zamboanga Del Norte
at the house and the G Triple P General Merchandise owned by Martiniano Quisel.
Initial investigation conducted by personnel of
Sindangan Bureau of Fire Protection disclosed that accordingly, on or about
8:35 AM of May 12, 2018, Martiniano Quisel saw that one of the room on the
second floor of their house was on fire, that prompted him to call and ask for
the assistance from the BFP of Sindangan and control the fire.
The firefighting team from the BFP Sindangan
declared fire out at about 9:30 AM, of May 12, 2018.. The estimated damage
amounted to Two Million Pesos (Php 2,000,000.00), more or less, and no
casualty/injured during the incident.
