Shooting incident
transpired at Barangay Baybay, Liloy, Zamboanga Del Norte Fronting Marjhon
Commercial Building at about 5:10 PM of September 25, 2017. The victims were
identified as Hon. Philip Dagurayan Malon (dead on arrival, a Barangay Chairman
of Barangay Mucas, Salug, Zamboanga Del Norte, 40 years old, male, married; Edgar
Vincent Lagare (dead on arrival, 27 years old, male and a resident of Brgy.
Liguac, Salug, Ava Lagare Vega, 35 years old, female married, also a resident
of Brgy. Liguac, Salug and Arl R. Acas, 25 years old, male, single. Investigation
disclosed that while said victims were together with his three aforementioned
companions dropped at the under construction commercial building owned by Hon.
Marjhon Bihag, a SB member of Liloy, Zamboanga Del Norte and went to their
rented stole to meet with their friends Ms. Marichu Acas, accordingly, minutes
passed, three (3) Honda XRM 125 motorcycles without plate numbers attached
onboard four (4) unidentified suspects wearing bonnets, armed with long
firearms stopped in front of the building, hastily disembarked and hurriedly
walked towards the victim’s location then suddenly open fired unto them. Hon. Malon
tried to evade and ran away from the suspects but the culprits chased him and
shot him several times. The suspects immediately left the crime scene heading
towards Tampilisan, Zamboanga Del Norte. The victims were immediately brought
to Liloy Integrated Health District Hospital but Hon. Malon And Edgar Vincent
Lagare were declared dead on arrival by Dr. Joseph Lim, Attending Physician of
said hospital while the other two victims were forwarded to Dipolog City
Hospital. Recovered from the crime scene were three (3) pieces fired cartridge
cases of caliber 5.56; two (2) pieces live ammunition of caliber 5.56; and one
(1) unit Isuzu trooper. Investigator on-case is Po1 Jo-An Utong with cellphone
number 0935-503-6630.
Arrest of Wanted Person
Operatives of Dipolog City
Police Station conducted manhunt operation at Purok Pag-Asa, Brgy. Barra,
Dipolog City at about 2:50 PM of September 25, 2017. This led to the arrest of Rige
Amper Tadle, 32 years old, single, and a resident of said place. This is by
virtue of warrant of arrest for the crime of attempted homicide docketed under
criminal case nr. a-52894 issued by Presiding Judge Chad Martin Paler of RTC9,
Branch 1, Dipolog City Dated August 18, 2017 with recommended bail bond
amounting to twelve thousand pesos (₱12,000.00). Arrested accused is detained
at said police station lock-up for proper disposition.
Arrest of Wanted Person
Operatives of Sindangan MPS
conducted manhunt operation at Brgy. Bantayan, Sindangan, Zamboanga Del Norte at
about 2:20 PM of September 25, 2017. The operation led to the arrest of Amado
Verdadero Macias, Jr., 22 years old, male, single, civilian and a resident of
said place by virtue of warrant of arrest for violation of section 11, article
ii of R.A. 9165 docketed under Criminal Case Nr. S-5656 Issued By Presiding
Judge Reymar L. Lacaya Of RTC9, Branch 11, Sindangan dated September 7, 2017
with bail bond recommended fixed at two hundred thousand pesos (₱200,000.00). The
accused is detained at said police station for proper disposition.
