1 dead, on injured in Road Crash Accident
POLANCO, Zamboanga del Norte - 1 person died, one injured in Road crash accident transpired at the junction of national highway of Purok Orchids, Brgy. Macleodes, Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte at about 2:00 PM of May 3, 2019.
The accident was involving two (2) vehicles described as follows:
Veh1 - green truck fuso, aluminum wing van, bearing temp. plate number 030101 driven by Lorenzo Catalino Abordo Jr., 38 yrs old and a resident of Upper Glad 1 Midsayap North Cotabato.
Veh2 – Black sunriser SR 100 MC, bearing plate no. 8997-GC, driven by Ruben Cabilin Atad, 70 yrs old, with backrider identified as Roger Libitario Dagpin Jr., legal age, and both residents of Brgy Desin, Pinan, Zamboanga del Norte.
Investigation conducted disclosed that while veh1 was travelling from S. Osmena towards Dipolog City and upon reaching the place of incident particularly at the junction, suddenly veh2 appeared and incidentally bumped the rear portion of veh1 that caused the said motorcycle and its riders to fell down on the road.
As a result, the riders of veh2 sustained injuries in different parts of their bodies.
Victims were brought to ZANORTE Medical Center, Dipolog City for medication but the driver was pronouncing DOA by the attending physician while veh2 and its driver are now in custody of Polanco MPS.
Barangay Chairman Shot dead in Zamboanga dek Norte
SINDANGAN, Zamboanga del Norte – A Barangay Chairman was killed in Shooting incident occurred at ABC Hall, Brgy La Roche, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte at about 11:58 AM of May 4, 2019.
Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Edgardo Podpod Viñas, 49 years old, married, Brgy Chairman of Dapaon, Sindangan and currently ABC President, and a resident of Brgy Dapaon, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte.
Initial investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident; the victim was presiding session at the ABC hall in Brgy La Roche, Sindangan.
After he adjourned the session, unidentified person surfaced and shot the victim with the use of long firearm.
The suspect then fled to J. Teaño St. Goleo, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte on board a Honda Wave, color black, wearing helmet color red.
The victim was brought to Sindangan District Hospital for medical attention but was pronounced DOA by the attending physician Dra. Nida Ramos.
The Sindangan Municipal Police Station is now conducting follow up operation and manhunt operation against the fleeing suspects.

The accident was involving Truck Fuso driven by Lorenzo Catalino Abordo Jr, 38 yrs old and Honda Wave MC driven by Ruben Cabilin Atad, 70 yrs. old, with back rider Roger Libitario Dagpin Jr, legal age.
As a result, the motorcycle fell down on the road inflicting injuries in different parts of the bodies of riders. Victims were brought to ZANORTE Medical Center, Dipolog City for medication but the driver was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
