killed in shooting incident
SIAYAN,
ZaNorte (June 26, 2018) – One person was
killed by unidentified armed men in a shooting incident at Sitio Datagan, Brgy
Guibo, Siayan, Zamboanga Del Norte at about 10:15AM of June 25, 2018.
Investigator on-case SPO1 William B.
Olvido Jr. identified the victim as Diosdado Quimas Malanao, 56, married,
farmer and a resident of said place.
The suspects were five unidentified
persons fully armed and believed to be members of CNTs, investigator said.
Immediately PNP personnel of Siayan MPS
together with Mr Rio Anadeo-Rural Health Unit (RHU) representative proceeded to
the area to verify the veracity of the report, he also said.
Initial Investigation conducted
disclosed that at about 6:00AM of same date, while the victim and his family
were in the outside of their house, allegedly the suspects with long firearms
suddenly appeared and without any sufficient reason, two of them shot the
victim four times hitting the different parts of the body.
After the shooting the victim, the
suspects pointed their firearms to the family members and stated in bisayan
dialect (wala moy labot, siya ra among toyo) “You are not included only him”.
After the incident suspects left the area and fled towards unknown direction.
Based on the testimony of the family members said unidentified persons were
allegedly members of a CNTs.
Recovered from the crime scene were
three (3) empty shells of caliber M14 riffle. Cadaver of the victim was
turned-over to his family for proper disposition.
