Recovered
of Abandoned Lumber in Siocon
On June 6, 2018 at about 11:25 AM, an
alleged illegal logging activity was transpired at Sitio Sicanan, Brgy. Latabon,
Siocon, Zamboanga Del Norte.
Immediately personnel of Siocon MPS in
coordination with personnel from CENRO-Siocon, DENR-IX responded to the area to
verify the veracity of report.
Upon arrival the responding team
recovered abandoned One hundred fourteen
(114) pieces illegally cut lumber of endangered species of “White Lauan, Nato
and Loktob” in different dimension with estimated volume of 1,214 board feet
with estimated total local market value of ₱ 30,350.
Recovered items were turned over to the
DENR CENRO-Siocon, Zamboanga Del Norte for proper disposition.
Siocon MPS still conducting in depth
investigation to possibly identify the responsible of said illegal cutting of
endangered species of trees.
