Shooting Incident
On or about 4:30 pm of September 22, 2017, a shooting
incident transpired at Purok 9, Lintangan, Sibuco, Zamboanga Del Norte.
Investigation disclosed that the victim was identified as Vicente Lumopog
Caing, 54 years old, married, and a resident of Lintangan, Sibuco who sustained
lone gunshot wounds at his forehead by Jayben Caing Aguilar (nephew of the
victim), 24 years old, male, single, and a resident of Purok 9, of same
barangay. Incident transpired at the residence of the suspect. Recovered at the
crime scene were: one (1) cal. 38 pistol, one (1) homemade cal. 22, one (1)
homemade shotgun, 148 rounds of assorted live ammunitions and two (2) magazines
of M16 rifle. Recovered at the body of the victim was one double blade hunting
knife tucked on his waist. Further, the PNP team conducted hot pursuit
operation against the suspect at Zamboanga City Medical Center in Zamboanga
City for he sustained also a gunshot wound at his left leg. Hence, at about
5:30 pm of September 22, 2017, said suspect was successfully arrested at the
ZCMC. Motive of the said incident was land dispute. Investigator on-case is Po2
