Mauling
Incident
LABASON,
ZaNorte (July 9, 2018) - Mauling incident
occurred at hill part of Barangay Lawagan, Labason, Zamboanga Del Norte at
about 9:00 PM of July 7, 2018.
The victim was identified as Alexarder
Marsaga y Batoctoy, 48 years old, married, fisherman, and a resident of said Barangay.
While the suspect was identified as Reneboy Cereales y Cabanilla, 26 years old,
single, with live-in partner, driver by occupation and a resident Brgy Lawagan
of said municipality.
Initial investigation conducted
disclosed that both of them were brother in-law and gathered around the videoke
house at the suspect. While gathering, the victim made a joke to the suspect,
however the suspect was get annoyed to the victim prompted him to box the
victim and hit to the face. When the victim stood up, another strike with a
fist blow hit to the victim and thereby the victim knocked down on which his
right forehead was hit to the hard wood part of the long bench that causes the
victim's untimely death.
Right after the incident, the suspect
immediately voluntarily surrendered to the responding team. The suspect is now
detained to Labason MPS for proper disposition. Investigator is SPO3 Pepito E

LILOY,
ZaNorte (July 8, 2018) - Shooting
incident occurred at Barangay Baybay, Liloy, Zamboanga Del Norte at around
11:00 PM of July 5, 2018.
Responding operatives of Liloy Municipal
Police Station (MPS) proceeded to the area purposely to verify the veracity of
said report. Upon arrival thereat, responding team saw a person sitting beside
the road and upon verification; subject person had a gunshot wound at his left
thigh.
The victim was later identified as
Larry Bulak Baylon, 24 years old, single and a resident of Mabuhay, Liloy
municipality.
Initial investigation conducted
disclosed that, the victim together with his unidentified companion were
walking along the national highway of Barangay Baybay, Liloy, believed to be
under the influence of liquor and further meet another group of persons that
later resulted to a commotion.
Accordingly, the group of the victim
was the one who initiated the commotion by throwing stones towards the other
unidentified group.
During the commotion, gunfire was heard
and the groups were scampered. The victim was left sitting beside the road
because he was hit by the said gunfire and was brought by the responding team
to Liloy Integrated Health District Hospital for medical treatment.
Caliber used is still to be determined.
Responding PNP personnel immediately conducted hot pursuit and follow-up
operation towards the suspect/s, but the suspect/s still unidentified and
nowhere to be found.

ROXAS,
ZaNorte (July 7, 2018) - Personnel of
Roxas MPS arrested two wanted person
during the conduct of manhunt operation at Bry Lower Irasan, Roxas, Zamboanga
Del Norte
about 11:30 AM of July 5, 2018.
Police identified the two arrested
wanted persons as Aguirre Epat Talay, 82 years old, married and Berta Sarigue
Talay, 80 years old, married, both residents of Sitio Tinaan, Brgy Canibongan,
Roxas, Zamboanga Del Norte.
Subject persons were arrested by virtue
of WOA issued by Judge Ric S. Bastasa of Br 8, 9RTC, Dipolog City dated July 2,
2018 for Violation of PD 705 (Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines),
docketed under Criminal Case No. 12711.
Further, arrested persons were
convicted on the above-cited violation and for them to Serve Their Sentence.
Arrest
of Wanted PersonDAPITAN CITY,
(July 7, 2018 - PNP personnel of Dapitan CPS conducted
manhunt operation at Brgy Sigayan, Dapitan City at
about 9:00AM of July 5, 2018.
The operation was resulted to the
arrest of Vergincita Ablao Sotillo, 65, female, widow and a resident of said
place.
Subject was arrested by virtue of WOA
issued by Judge Hilarion Jonathan G. Maagad of MCTC, 9RTC Judicial Region,
Dapitan City, for violation of RA 8040 as amended by RA 10593, docketed under
CC no. 18164, dated July 4, 2018 with bail bond recommended amounting to (Php
36,000.00).
Arrested person is now detained at
Dapitan CPS for proper disposition.
3 Dead,
5 Injured in Vehicular Traffic Accident
KATIPUNAN,
ZaNorte (july 7, 2018) - Vehicular
traffic accident transpired along the provincial road of Brgy Seroan,
Katipunan, Zamboanga Del Norte at about 3:40pn of July 5, 2018.
The accident involving Green Utility
Vehicle with plate no JVE 527 and driven by Rex Abuhan y Ageas, 29, married and
a resident of Brgy Seres, Katipunan, Zamboanga Del Norte.
Initial investigation conducted
disclosed that said vehicle was travelling from Brgy Dos bound to Brgy Seroan
both of Katipunan, loaded with passengers and goods. Upon their arrival at the
place of accident, said vehicle failed to climb the ascending part of the road
and further move in backward motion and subsequently fell in the cliff with
estimated height of 5 meters.
As a result, one passenger died
instantly identified as Jeann Adaro Quitoan, 13, grade 7 student and inflicted
injuries to other passengers identified as follows:
a. Merlita Adaro Quitoan, female, 38
yrs old, married;
b. Ira Adaro Quitoan, female, 15 yrs
old, grade 8 student;
c. Rosel Hapay Gunday, female, 39 yrs
old, married;
d. Angel Bais Encarnacion, female,
grade 6 student;
e. Wilihado Ugbad Lumanda, male, 50 yrs
old, married;
f. Jonilo Gumalang, male, grade 7
student, all of Brgy. New Rizal, Sergio Osmeña and
g. Dina Jumawak Padayhag, female, 35
yrs old, married of Brgy. Seroan, Katipunan.
All injured victims were rushed to
ZaNorte Medical Center, Sicayab, Dipolog City for medical treatment, but Ira
Adaro Quitoan and Wilihado Ugbad Lumanda were pronounced DOA by the attending
physician. Investigator is PO1 Joerich Ramos with CP no 09300110463.
Widow
Arrested in Dapitan for Violation of RA 8040
DAPITAN
CITY, (July 7, 2018) - PNP personnel of
Dapitan City Police Station conducted manhunt operation at Brgy Sigayan,
Dapitan City
at about 9:00 AM of July 5, 2018.
The operation was resulted in the
arrest of Vergincita Ablao Sotillo, 65 years old, female, widow and a resident
of said place.
She was arrested by virtue of Warrant
of Arrest for Violation of RA 8040 as amended by RA 10593, issued by Judge
Hilarion Jonathan G. Maagad of MCTC, 9RTC Judicial Region, Dapitan City,
docketed under CC no. 18164, dated July 4, 2018 with bail bond recommended
amounting to Thirty Six Thousand Pesos (Php 36,000.00).
Arrested person is now detained under
the temporary custody of Dapitan CPS for proper disposition.
