A flash flood incident
transpired at Singaran, La Libertad, Zamboanga Del Norte
at about 3:50 PM of October
2, 2017 particularly at Dapitan River wherein a dump truck loaded with 6
individuals were carried away by the strong current of the water. initial
investigation conducted disclosed that while the victims identified as Federico
Calunsag, Jun Obordo, Ihid Pioco, Lilia Ellobido, Ruth Pactorayan And Joana
Tuse were quarrying sand and gravel at said river, a suddenly a turbulence occurred.
When the dump truck ought to be loaded with the aggregates cross the makeshift
road, the victims signal the vehicle for them to ride then while the said truck
traversing at said river, a strong current of water carried the said truck
together with six (6) victims. Personnel of La Libertad MPS still conducting
search and rescue operation for the recovery of the victims. The investigator
on case is SPO2 Reczim Daquipil with contact number 0935-232-5603.
Progress Report on Flood Incident
On or about 7:50 PM of October
2, 2017, a dead body of Lilia Parojinog Eleobido, 54 years old, married a
resident of barangay opao, Dapitan City, Zamboanga Del Norte, identified as one
of the 6 victims of the said incident was recovered by the joint retrieval
operations team nearby the site of the incident. The cadaver was examined by
the La Libertad Municipal Health Officer Dr. Navarro with findings of acute
respiratory failure secondary to drowning. Continuous retrieval operations are still
on-going to retrieve the 5 other victims.
Entrapment Operation
Personnel of Sindangan MPS conducted
entrapment operation at Brgy Poblacion, Sindangan, Zamboanga Del Norte at about
2:15 PM of October 2, 2017 against the suspect of theft and robbery extortion. The
team arrested Mark Leo Ordiales Fernandez, 19 years old, male, single, and a
resident of Barangay La Roche, Sindangan, Zamboanga Del Norte who was caught in
the act accepting the marked money from Elvie Danieles and in possession of one
unit gray cellular phone. Confiscated from the possession and control of the
arrested suspect are as follows; one (1) unit gray cellular phone with ime
numbers 865883025682538 and 865883025682546, one (1) unit white Samsung
cellular phone, one (1) piece five hundred peso bill (p500.00) marked money
bearing serial number cv112184 and cash money amounted to two hundred sixty
pesos (p260.00). accordingly, prior to the conduct of the entrapment operation,
that sometime on September 24, 2017, the suspect was allegedly stealing the one
(1) unit gray cellular phone owned by the victim, while was attending mass
inside the roman catholic church (cathedral) situated at Brgy Poblacion, Sindangan,
then and there, the victim tried to contact the said cellular phone until it
reached to the point that they were able to contact and communicate to the
possessor of the said cellular phone which in turn that the possessor/suspect
demanded money in return of the said cellular phone to the victim. Immediately,
Virginia Oropesa and Elvie Danieles reported to Sindangan MPS that lead to the
apprehension of the suspect. The arrested subject person is presently detained
at Sindangan MPS for proper disposition.
